Tomasz Klepczyński

Tomasz Klepczyński is a clarinetist, saxophonist, composer, arranger, and educator from Koszalin, Poland. He graduated with honors from the G. Bacewicz Music School in Koszalin. Tomasz holds two master’s degrees: one in classical music (with distinction) under the mentorship of Prof. Bogdan Ocieszak and Dr. Andrzej Wojciechowski, and the other in popular music (with high honors) under Dr. Maciej Sikała. Both degrees were earned at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk. Through the ERASMUS program, he studied with Prof. António Saiote in Porto, Portugal, and participated in numerous workshops conducted by world-renowned virtuosos. Tomasz is also a laureate of multiple clarinet competitions in Poland.

He has performed extensively in Poland and abroad, including in the Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Portugal, Norway, and Spain. Specializing in solo performances, Tomasz has appeared with:

The Symphony Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, premiering Artur Guza’s work for clarinet and orchestra.
The Polish Baltic Philharmonic in a concert series featuring the best graduates of the Academy.
The Koszalin Philharmonic, premiering Tomasz Goliński’s concerto for clarinet, bass clarinet, two marimbas, and orchestra.

Tomasz is also active in chamber music, performing in various configurations such as piano trios, quartets, quintets, and larger ensembles, including clarinet, reed, and wind instrument groups. While continuing to participate in classical music projects, he has recently focused on improvised music, including jazz, free jazz, folk jazz, Dixieland, Gypsy swing, klezmer music, tango, world music, pop, electronic, and theater music. In 2020, as part of the international Gdańsk Clarinet Days at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy, he delivered a lecture titled “The Clarinet in Contemporary Jazz Music” and presented material from his Common Tones project in concert.

Tomasz has performed at notable jazz festivals, including Sopot Molo Jazz Festival, Jazz Jantar, Jazz nad Odrą, and Złota Tarka. He has been involved in projects such as the Maciej Sikała Septet, Common Tones, Kamiszczi, Gregorian Grace, Projekt Bies, Jan Jarecki Oktet, and Gregorian Priests, the latter under the patronage of Archbishop Wojciech Polak, the Primate of Poland.

As an instrumentalist, he has collaborated with numerous prestigious ensembles and organizations, including the Polish Baltic Philharmonic, Koszalin Philharmonic, Baltic Opera in Gdańsk, Polish Chamber Orchestra in Sopot, Leszek Kułakowski Jazz Orchestra, Stanisław Moniuszko Academy Orchestra and Big Band, Sinfonietta Consonus, Progress Chamber Orchestra, D. Baduszkowa Musical Theater in Gdynia, A. Osiecka Atelier Theater in Sopot, ZPiT Jagódki, and ZPiT Gdańsk.

From 2021 to 2024, Tomasz managed a concert agency that organized nearly 300 performances for projects like Gregorian Grace and Voci e Violini, attended by over 50,000 listeners. These events took place in major Polish philharmonic halls, other concert venues, and churches across Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands.

Since 2019, together with his wife, Tomasz has been developing a private cultural center called Pracownia Muzyczna Muzykon in two locations in Gdańsk Wrzeszcz. This 500 m² space is dedicated to music education, hosting workshops, concerts, training sessions, rehearsals, recordings, and other cultural events. Muzykon aims to promote music, increasing societal awareness and sensitivity to culture and art through musical education, thus expanding the community of individuals who appreciate and engage with the arts.
